Example of installed Cardale Autoglide MkIII

The original door right hand side roller and vertical rail:

Vertical rail removed and Autoglide roller fitted ready for the motor assembly:

The motor assembly in position.  Note the coiled cable which will link to the doors latch system.  Note the doors roller is mounted into the black carriage, the motor drives the carriage up and down by means of a belt inside the aluminum extrusion that has replaced the old vertical rail:

Wired for motion.  micro switch in position to set the lower door travel limit.  On this installation the button on the motor to open/close the door was disabled (child lock) so a button was mounted at head level for safety.  Note the 20mm protrusion into the garage width - in reality not a problem as cars wing mirrors are much higher up the door post:

View from above.  Left to right: Roller (silver), cable to latch system (black), tilt bracket fitted to door (silver rectangle), manual release lever (red), tilt lever (white), motor (black):

Simple set up to automatically release sprung loaded door locks.  The lower cable goes to the motor and is pulled when the open cycle is started, this in turn pulls the cables to the latches:
